Baked Garlic Parsley Fries

Homemade baked fries? Yes, please! I made these babies to accompany our turkey burgers earlier this week. So, so good.

Another homemade item that I can’t believe people buy (just like granola!) because these are very easy to make AND you get to flavor them however you like. These make a great Sunday football snack, especially in large amounts for the Superbowl!

Because these fries are baked you save the fried calories – although maybe I should call them “French Bakes” instead of “French Fries.” No, not funny? Hah! I hope you enjoy these as much as my husband and I did – just remember, you can substitute my seasoning to have the flavor of cayenne pepper, paprika, extra salt or (dare you) extra garlic.

Baked Garlic Parsley Fries

Serves 2

Ingredients

  • 2 potatoes, cut into thin fries (I used 1 sweet potato and 1 Yukon gold)
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon pepper
  • 2-3 tablespoons parsley, chopped

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 425 degrees and line baking sheet with foil.
  2. Fill a medium bowl up with cold water and a few ice cubes – let the cut potatoes soak in there for a few minutes. Then, drain and dry.
  3. Drizzle the olive oil on the baking sheet.
  4. Toss dried potatoes on the baking sheet to evenly coat with oil.
  5. To the best that you can, arrange the cut potatoes to make a single layer.
  6. Sprinkle with garlic powder, salt and pepper.
  7. Bake 20-25 minutes, checking halfway to make sure fries aren’t sticking to baking sheet.
  8. Once done, taste and season some more to your liking. Toss fries with parsley and serve.
